This Privacy Policy explains how CFC Youth Group ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use CFC YG. This is a private app designed for CFC Youth Group members, their parents, and youth group leaders. Accounts are created by youth group administrators.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, full name, and password
- Profile Information: Profile picture (optional), birthday (optional), and role (student, parent, or leader)
- Content You Create: Posts, comments, event RSVPs, and prayer requests
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Features you use and actions you take
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version
- Push Notification Token: Device identifier for sending notifications (if enabled)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain app features
- Enable communication between youth group members, parents, and leaders
- Track event attendance via RSVPs
- Display prayer requests and enable community prayer support
- Send notifications about posts, events, and prayer support
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service Providers: We use Supabase to store and process data securely on our behalf.
- Youth Group Leaders: Leaders can view member activity including RSVPs, posts, and prayer requests for ministry purposes.
- Parents: Parents linked to student accounts can view their child's activity.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law.
Data Security
We protect your personal information with:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication and session management
- Row-level security to restrict data access
- Secure credential storage on your device
Children's Privacy
CFC YG is designed for youth group members ages 12 and older. Our youth group program serves students beginning in 6th grade, with the youngest participants being 12 years of age.
- Age Requirement: This app is intended for users 12 years of age and older.
- Parental Involvement: For users under 13, we require parental consent prior to account creation. Accounts for minors are created by youth group administrators with parental permission.
- Limited Data Collection: We only collect information necessary for youth ministry functions.
- Parental Access: Parents can view their child's activity and request deletion of their child's data by contacting us.
- No Advertising: We do not display ads or share children's data for marketing purposes.
If you believe a child under 12 is using CFC YG, please contact us immediately.
Data Retention
- Active Accounts: Data is retained while your account is active
- Deleted Accounts: Your profile and personal data are permanently removed upon deletion
- Created Content: Posts or events you created may remain but will no longer show your name
Your Rights
You can:
- Access: View your information in your profile settings
- Update: Edit your profile at any time
- Delete: Delete your account in Profile > Delete Account
- Control Notifications: Manage push notifications in settings
Account Deletion
To delete your account:
- Go to Profile
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion
Your profile and personal data will be permanently removed. This cannot be undone.
Push Notifications
We send push notifications for:
- New posts from leaders
- New events
- Event reminders (day before)
- When someone prays for your prayer request
You can enable or disable each notification type in Settings > Notifications.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of CFC YG after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
